How did get into NES?

We've had a couple of threads about when you joined NES, or what NES was first, but as far as I know we never had a thread that actually asked how you got into NES, so here it is. What brought you over to the Never Ending Stories forum?

As far as me being here, feel free to blame Plexus . I was going through the OT forums when I saw one of his posts that had an advertisement for his old European NES in the profile. It was something along the lines of "Start up your own kingdom in European NES". That got my attention so I checked it out. The rules were nice and easy, and the map was very simple, so I wanted to try it out. But then I came to the last page and I found out it was dead . I think I PMed him asking if he'd start it again sometime. Anyways, I wondered if there was another European NES out there so I checked the forum it was in; "Never Ending Stories". The first thing I noticed was how complicated they were all named... like some sort of alien language. What the hell was stXDFtTr2GNES16.3??? So I lost interest for a little while. I checked the forum back a few days later and I found Amon's 2nd NES, which seemed pretty simple, so I joined it. It was fun so I stuck with it, and joined a few other NES. The rest is "history".

lol... that reminds me... could someone who knows explain what Apolyton had to do with NES'? To me it seems that Civfanatics NES to Apolyton NES is what the Lord of the Rings triliogy is to the Symillarion.... except I hate Tolkien.

I got civ 3 and scoped out this site. I found the NESes and checked it out for about a week. I then decided to join, i had been playing story RPG games(you play a part in a story type thing, but it has rules like an RPG) up till then, and they seemed to start bore me cause they just kept remaking the same thing over again. I was there for about a year then moved here. NESes are much funner.

I had just joined the forums and back then played alot of SG's. Sometimes I was annoyed that the NES forum had posts when the SG forum didn't, so I ended up looking at the NES forum and becoming attached almost immediately.

well... ahh, lets go back into history... around a couple months ago... August.

Well I cam here a long time ago, and then, I was more into the DemoGame and Succession Games when I decided to look here, I was also confused, I thought it was about current world news and people where just typing big things about it. But then around august, I decided to take a look in this "Never Ending Stories" forum and I looked in the "NES game concepts for newbies" thread and read over it. It was slight interesting, then I think I went to rtor2, I was VERY VERY VERY confused, so many maps, posts, everything confused me, so many pages... lol. So then I looked for a short thread, with minimum posts, it was Emunes 1.4, I looked at the rules, and thought... hmmm, this emu guy, maybe he knows alot. So I PM'ed him and asked him about this NES and he replied and then we met on AIM, he explained everything, so when I had trouble I asked him. I then joined MinionNES first, sinse I remembered I wanted to represent my backgrounds, so i joined as Israel. I LOVED that nes, until it died. Then on the same day I joined Emunes 1.4 as Mongolia and Asnes2 as Aztecs. Those were the days....

and then in less then a couple of days... this was my nes list;

JNESX- Arabia
Neo NES IV: Classical- Vikings
Asnes2- Aztecs
st4441- Huron and Lepane
Minionnes1- Israel
Emunes 1.4- Mongolia
SNES: Absolution 2- Carthage
NANESIII: Starting new- Rome
stFMNES 2: Russia
Sheep's Vol. 17- forgot what civ I was... lol

I hadn't got civ, only thinking about it, so I searched this site to see if I really wanted it. Came to the stories section, read a bit, and then was attracted by UK's NeverEnding Story (NES didnt have its own forum yet). Joined it and walla.

I joined Azales American Empire NES back in April. I had been a member for GD,OT and history and then got into NES. I joined one or two until Septrmber when I joined PumaNES and several others.

Well, one day i was reading stories on the main story forum. I had just finished reading one, cant remember which one it was. Then i was bored because i didnt see any new posts to read. So i decided to explore that strange loking forum called Never Ending Story. I poped in and started reading AAminion's Euro NES which happend to be on the top of the page. I spent about two hours reading it in its entirety and decided to join it. It looked like lots of fun. After the first update i decided i really did like Neses and joined Stalin's Superpowers and Constantines WW1.

I joined back in February last year, before that i spent most of my time in the demogame.

Norseone pulled me in........ I played civ III, umm yeah, thats pretty much it.

Amirsan, man, that brings back memories. Maybe I should bring back MinionNES1 and let all the former players get back in. Sort of like a retro NES.

I've been NESing since Jan. 2, 2003. Played as Portugal/Iberia in RTOR2, Panderan in Das's Warcraft NES and Mali in JNES5 for my first few NESes. Then I modded stPLXNESI: Welcome to Jinsei-- a glorious failure, it was.

Amon talked me into it over msn.

I had civ3 and came to see what stories thread is and sw never ending stories so I tought it will have civ3 screenies (I love civ3 screenshots) because it seems like somone that plays write a story.
All I found is myself playing China in UKnes that ws all over the world. Than in RTOR1, as China and some boards games...


Wow thinking about it, I prety much killed board games! by making EQ start a nes with the idea of a 4000BC time... That idea spread up realy fast.

It was the best idea, 4000 bc, and so simple, lol.
