Well as erez said in the other site, I am interested in consolidating the succes of our NES community and make an official website for it. This site will be strictly informational (no new forums or nothing, no intentions of moving). It will feature news about new neses, updates to the site, etc.

The sections/pages I plan to have made to the site is listed below.

  • Overview (This is a brief description/overview of what nes is)
  • Rules (how you play the game divided into three sections, Boardgame Rules, Story NES Rules, and Never Ending Story rules)
  • History (This is the history of the game from its creation and how it has come so far)
  • NES Hall of Fame (This is where the best nes' in NES history are stored in links and description. Only when a nes is dead it can be eligible for this prize.)
  • NES of the Week (Here we will feature a new nes, or ongoing
nes that deserves the spotlight becuase of the unique, skillful ways the nes was started, etc.)
  • Noobie Center (Here is where there will be FAQs, a list of people with thier contacts who would be willing to help noobs)
  • The Community (This page is simply a list of all the NES forums out in the world wide web. Maybe a list of the community and players with thier contacts etc.)
  • Player of the Month (Here is were we list a player who has done alot in games, and for the NES community not just on how they played, but thier attitude, and thier commitment to what they do aswell as thier stories, etc.)
  • NES Directory (Here is where a list of NES' that come out are tracked by one or two people if you are looking for a certain NES, its just like the thread stickied up here.)
  • Open Spots in NES (This is just like the thread up there, but more organized and keeped.)
  • Gallery of Maps (This is a gallery my webhosting provides me with, it will be a great way to sort out our maps for NES, where you can see like a number of thumbnails in a page and click it to actually take the map, it would be sorted by what type of map it is, to its period making it super easy to find a map you need for your upcoming nes.)
  • NES Alliance Forums (This will be the only forums for this site, I will install a seperate PHPBB2 forums where alliances and groups from the nes community can request thier own secuirity forums to discuss with thier allies, and stuff like that.)
  • Word of Plea (I am not sure if this is good enough, but this is a place were new mods of a new nes write two scentences on why players should join thier nes.)
  • Site Staff (Simple enough to understand. Its a page of the staff working on this site.)
  • News (This will be a news program I will install for the admin where we will post announcements of new nes openings, players, and anything that is worth getting the word out.)
  • Mischelaneas Archives

This will be quite a site to maintain, and for almost everyone here, I dont think anyone has the time to maintain it and run it on thier own, more or less create it. Therefore I am welcoming ANYONE (vets, noobs, anyone) who wants to help or even administrate the website.

Hopefully there is someone whith good knowledge of HTML who can realy maintain the site. If not, then we will be using a CMS (Content Manegement System) like PHP-Nuke, its much easier to maintain, but less control over the backend of the site.

Anyways, this thread will be updated regularly to inform you guys on what has been done on this project SCC is hosting.

I encourage any feedback, questions, responses, help anything here, we can use ALL the help we can get. ;)

BTW, the url for this site will most likely be www.stratcommandcenter.com/nes/

:) Thanks,
Amirsan.

PS to Mods, if this can be stickied, then it would help alot.

looks good was there not an idea for a Neser hall of fame though?

I get a 404!:(

Is the Old Empires NES mentioned?:D

there is no site yet. Ok, guys, this is what I am asking. I will need all these pages made. For the following is just one page:

1. Overview

2. Rules> Story Rules> BoardGame Rules> Never Ending Stories Rules

3. Site Staff (I will be doing this one)

4. The Community

5. History of NES

Now these are sections that will need someone to run it, and/or update it when needed:

1. NES Hall of Fame (Jason the King)

2. NES of the Week (Finmaster)

3. Noobie Center (Jason the King [maybe])

4. Player of the Month

5. NES Directory (Finmaster)

6. Open Spots in NES

7. Gallery of Maps

8. News

9. Player Reviews (Finmaster)

Everything else will probably be ran by me, when needed. If you are interested just post what section or page you wanna do and I will edit your name above beside the desired spot.

A really good idea Amirsan. Will check up if I could help a bit :)

Thisis a good idea, but i don´t have the time to be the manager of an entire section. But what do you think about this: Maybe insted of NES of the week and player of the week you could call them "NES reviews" and "Player reviews". Everybody who wants to could make a review and send it to you.

Well I dont know about that, NES Reviews sounds like a good idea, but player reviews... I dont think anyone would want an article on them made by someone else to be set in stone, especially if the review is made by someone who doesn't like them. We only want to bring out the good things of nes, not the possible "this player sucks" reviews to darken the attitude of this great community. If you know what I mean. :) But NES Reviews is a good idea, I will probably use that aswell. :)

Some sort of player interviews, maybe, so players can in a way do these reviews themselves.. questions would be the same for all, and including objective questions that would give as good picture about the good sides AND the bad sides of the nesser involved as possible.. and the article could be written from that perspective.

ok, we can try that. We will see how it works. Maybe this will be in the "Noobie Center" section. :)

------------------

Alright, I need help or this will never get off the ground. If you want to help write an article, then just post here which one you will do and then send it to me on pm. I will take it and then pubish it.

I am still figuring what program we should use for the site, I dont know if I have time (with scc on my back) to manage the site with HTML and Dreamweaver, but I cannot get my installation right for PHP-Nuke, so we will have to see...

IF YOU KNOW HTML OF SOME SORT, PLEASE CONTACT ME ON AIM.

got it! Our site is made (with no content atleast).

This is the Official Nes Website's URL:

http://stratcommandcenter.com/nes/index.php

simple no? :) Well I will be assigning new admins, and will configue main parts of it. Though I dont want to be the manager of this site, sinse I have no time for this, so anyone interested in website manegement, just post here. I will teach you, and anyone in charge of sections how to make new pages and stuff.

I will be adding more themes and stuff the the PHP-Nuke site, and some Modules (moderations and add-ons).

I could handle:

-Reviews on players (based at least somewhat on interviews, so they can influence the outcome of these reviews).
-Ongoing Nes's directory, where people would see Nes's that are running and that might have open spots.
-"NES of the week", a closer look on a certain NES that has something special in it..

Good, good. It is a shame I could not help you with it. Here is an idea though - how about a NES discussion board as well, where NESers could discuss The NES and any NES in particular. I myself think it could, to some limit, decrease spam in the NES threads here.

You could have a "NES of the week feature" like Finmaster said BUT with as many people as possibly reviewing it.

Well those are very good ideas, both of you, das and Ice Eye.

About the boards, that is what the Alliance boards were kinda for, to discuss certain nes' in alliances. Though just a spam nes forum sounds good. :)

About the NES of the Week. I agree with you, I think players should review each nes, I think that should be another feature though. Sinse nes of the week was for kinda like people to vote which nes to put up on ths showcase, aswell as the NES Hall of Fame.

I have so many good utilities I can install for all these features, but as said, I dont have time to setup the site, I need an administrator...

I thought Alliance boards meant alliance-related discussions. What I suggest is an OOC NES discussion boards.
