Hey guys. Turns out the install grabbed the wrong exe. I've sent the patch to Thunderfall so he can make it available for you (I'd attach it myself, but the 500k cap won't let me). We'll be pounding on it all night, so if you find any problems, please email me directly at jmorris@firaxis.com.

thanks mate... i do have one problem though... safedisk is still giving problems... i do have the legal version though. i think a lot more pplz have that problem here, and now our only option is to wait 2+ weeks for a new crack to come out

perhaps if you could solve this.

no, if you use win2k or XP the current patch is b0rked.
jeffrey sent it to thunderfall, so he can upload it, but it seems thunder isn't here, so if you use win2k or XP you'll just have to wait

I would like to thank the Firaxis team for the quick response I have saw from the time the bug was found to the point were you acknowledged it and fixed it.

Even tho I would suggest a more thorough testing process youre willigness to act on the problems at hand in a professional and efficient matter far out outweighs the bug or bugs.

Since Thunderfall doesn't seem to be around at this time (of day? of night? whatever the time zone), is there anybody who has some free space on their web site to post the patch? At least until it is up here or anywhere else (www.civ3.com). If so please mail Jeff and ask him to send it to you.

Cool beans :crazyeyes However, and you may have straightened it out when you post the patch, should I reload the new patch? Even though the first I loaded seems to work just fine.

I am not clear about what has been updated here. Is this patch now compatible with win2k & XP or has something else been fixed??

Don't think so..I got mine from Civ3.com and it is still buggy.

It seems whoever packaged the original 1.16 included an outdated version of the Civilization3.exe. This NEW 1.16 patch *should* work (or at least contain fewer bugs).

Just d'loaded the new file from Thunderfall's link. Went to run it and it wants to uninstall Civ3!!

Er, the last patch didn't do this.
Should it be trying to uninstall Civ3?

It's trying to uninstall the previous patch install. Let it do it's thing, and then run the patch again. Installshield get's weird with patches, so make sure you let it finish doing whatever it does.

Quick question...need a definitive answer...will this (the one Thunderfall just uploaded) work on 2k/XP?

I only ask cause I got 1.16f from the civ3.com (around 1 central time)...so is this one different than that?
