Below are three files. The first is a compilation image of all the wonders splashes for the additional wonders in the Double your Pleasure Mod (still under construction). The second image is of the one I forgot to add in the composite. The next post has a link to the wonder splash images themselves.

Sealman,

I want to make all the additional files available now so that when the mod is finally finished all that needs to be downloaded is the bic file and maybe some unit.ini files. Plus, it is nice to hear that people like what I am doing. Gives some motivation to keep going.

besides, I post when I am at work and work on the mod when I get home.:D

check out the change log to see what the wonders will do.

still working on the values for the units/improvements.

Stainz,

the only graphics from CTP are Edison's Lab, East India Company, and Gutenberg's bible.

I grabbed graphics from ToT for, atomic weapons test (this is different than Manhatten Project - it is a requirement for Manhatten Project and United Nations), Eiffel Tower (though I had to modify it to get rid of that red sky) and Stonehenge.

The Energy Grid is a compilation satellite photo of the earth at night with all the lights on.

I know some of these images are very Americentric, but I tried to keep them as generic as possible.

Right now I think my favorite is the Hollywood image - taken and edited from the 2001 Oscars poster.

They look pretty good to me. (-:

I used two different programs. I am sure you could do it all with photoshop or psp but I am not as comfortable with those programs.

I used Irfanview, which you can get at www.downloads.com, to resize the images from 320 to 160 and reformat as bmp. Then I used the paint program that comes with windows to put them all together.

And then I used Irfanview again to convert it to a gif. I find that using jpegs distorts the colors a bit and causes some blurring, but gifs keep the image nice and clear.

Like I said, I am sure all this could have been done with one of the other graphics programs out there but these are the two that I am most comfortable with.

WOW! Those images are beautifal. I can finally have my civ go to Disneyland! :D Only one problem though, your sports wonder doesnt have hockey on it, so i guess that one is useless ;) Just kidding. You should do work on my mod, i need someone with talent, instead of these no-talent unit makers like Dark Sheer ;) (just kidding Sheer).

Nice wondas, but i think iz t00 much americanized though...

I am open to suggestions for new Wonders Both Great and Small if you feel that your corner of the world is not represented.

Its not our fault that the U.S has so many things :) I doubt this is about being pro US and just about finding good wonders.

Maybe could include stuff such as:
buddha related
wailing wall
arc of covenant :)
perhaps a more advanced computers like nanotechnology
the louvre
olympics?
pantheon or is it parthenon
st. patricks cathedral
Ford Production plant (perhaps could increase production 1st mass production)
International Space Station
Hubble Telescope
Cloning (maybe increases population or something)

those should level the playing field a bit for those who don't like the USA being at the top. If i think of others will let ya know. Great job so far.

nEo,

Those are good, but what would they do? One that I am particularly interested in is the Olympics, but I could never figure out a way to get it to work in the game.

Its too bad there isn't something like the old civ2 eiffel tower, where by building it you could improve your relations with the other civs.

The Louvre I imagine would be a national Museum, that is definitley a possibility to be added.

lets see.... im not really sure how much programming u can do to affect the game. Put possible uses next to it and possible culture points in parenthases.

big wonders:
buddha - not sure something religious
wailing wall(4) - eases war weariness of citizens
arc of covenant(5) - not sure just sounds cool :)
the louvre(4) - happiness in some way sounds correct here
pantheon / parthenon(3) - creates a temple in each city
st. patricks cathedral(4) - creates cathedral in each city
Ford Production plant(2) - increases production in cities on continent
International Space Station(3) - not sure but something global
Hubble Telescope(2) - since fog of war isnt really a major player not sure

small wonders:
Cloning(2) - human units are created faster
olympics(4) - extra trade per square in city where built
nanotechnology - increases science in city built or production

Yeah used to like that ol' eiffel tower, needed it lots too in CIV II, at least i did ;) The only time i run into trouble now is when i get a free movement between nations going, line up my forces next to all their cities and crush em. The other countries dont like that too much.

Well the Buddha one could increase happiness in your empire. The Sistene chapel is sorta like the Buddha statue.
Arc Of The Covenent could be like the end of the game? Like you try to recreate the Ark Of The Covenent by following stuff in the bible and the end animation could be like God coming down to earth and rewarding your civ for bringing him back and smites the other civs? That's probably currently out of our league I guess.
Ya know La Louvre could increase the culture of a civ or a city. La Louvre does house some priceless pieces of artwork.
Guess that pretty much sums it up.
