The conquest (err... liberation) of Japan is proceeding nicely. So much so, in fact, that we now control a city beyond our current provincial borders. As we will be voting on a governor for this area next term, we should determine the borders for that new province ahead of time.

Please post comments, discussion, alternative recommendations, etc.... in this thread so that we can decide this matter long before the elections later this month.

Nice. I'd probably include a little more of the mountains/hills in the SW.

Looks great. It will be a powerhouse Province, especially if/when we take Kagoshima.

Looks great 40J. I recomend this Border Proposal :goodjob:

Actually, I would combine these new boarders with those of that Gem Province. The majority of this province is mountain, meaning at best we can fit 7 cities in, far too small for a province IMHO.

Barring that, it looks good.

I like it. But perhaps you should incorporate those hills, forests, and the mountain right by Kagoshima. Also, for old times sake, why not claim that whale out by Rostov? Couldn't hurt...

There is a river that flows directly underneath the southern border of this proposed province. The river turns and wraps around the city Minsk, but I thought including Minsk would be a bit greedy.

As we now have three cities within these proposed borders, I intend to conduct a poll on this proposal in 24 hrs. If anyone wishes an alternative proposal to be included, please post it in this thread within that time period.

I agree with Grandmaster. Something like my attachment.

Good job FortyJ :goodjob:

I am grateful for your contribution. It's nice to see new members getting involved.

There is a problem, however, with the proposal you have attached. Our rules require us to create our provincial borders in a manner consistent with the underlying natural terrain. While forrests are certainly a part of the natural terrain, they are less permanent (ie. they can be cut down...) than rivers and mountains/hills, and therefore not used to determine borders unless as a last resort (ie. nothing else within several tiles...).

The red border line was drawn right on top of a river that flows from the mountains east of Kagoshima to the coast north of Minsk. I chose to veer away from the river and follow the hills west of Rostov because I figured that including Minsk would have added too much area and too many cities to this potentially powerful province.

FortyJ,

Ok. I got it. I like the idea of a democracy game and sure I will continue contributing. Chiefly, analyzing economic features.

I just want to know where I can download the save game...

You can download the save game from the Turn Chat instruction threads. The DP (designated player) typically includes a link to the file in the last post of those threads. It is commonly zipped, so you will need an unzipping application like WinZip or similar to extract the file and view it.

You may download the save game for viewing purposes only (ie. to view existing build queues, or to explore possible tile usage, or to explore potential trades, etc...). However, it is explicitly against the rules to play the save game. Only the Designated Player may do so, and only during the scheduled turn chat.

Other than that. Welcome aboard. I look forward to seeing you around the forum and the chat rooms.

Welcome!

BTW, I don't think we need a 2nd district... :) They're too much red tape as it is...
