This is a spin off from another thread.
pdescobar has agreed to help me convert leaderhead images that I've created for a scenerio I am hoping to see light of day based on Ireland/Britian/Scotland.

utahjazz7 has already created the pict warrior, the alternative euro swordsman, the euro spearman, and the seperatist unit.
Kindred72 has made the scottish highlander.
Kinboat is making another euro spearman that would add to the distinction between civs/kingdoms.
There are many other units that could be added to it that are already made.

The civs/kingdoms I'm hoping to have in it are:

Ireland:

Ulster (Images done)
Munster (image done)
Leinster (Images done)
Connaught (Images done)
Meath (Images done)

Scotland:

Dal Raida. (Scots) (Images done)
Nothern Pictland ( PTW celt leaderhead)
Southern Picland. (Images done)

Anglo/Saxon.

Essex.
Sussex.
wessex. (Images done)
Kent
Nothumbria
East Anglains.

British Celt.

Gwynedd (Wales) (images done)
Powys (Wales) (Images done)
Deheubarth (Wales) (images done)
Dumnonia (Cornwall) (images done)
Strathclyde (N/W Britian) (Images done)

Others:

The Vikings. (PTW viking leaderhead)
The Normans. (images done)

This scenerio has been made a couple of times, but I'm hoping this will be the best and most complex one with graphics to match.

pdescobar, the link above is all the images below zipped. (i hope)
Let me know when your ready for the next one.
If someone is good at still leaderheads and wants to help, let me know and I'll post the images up.

This is the Wessex leaderhead, 'Ceaulin'. I choice him because he was the first bretwalda "Ruler of Britain", (anglo/saxon highking) from Wessex.

I'd apprecate if only people who are interested in this post replys.

IMHO, Vikings should be divided into two two groups at least : Danes and Norwegian Vikings.

Otherwise I am really looking for a good scenario on that period !
:goodjob:

I got the zip and will start converting tomorrow or perhaps tonight if I get tired of pixel editing. Did you want to make a "beatup" picture in poser or should I do the old cut&paste with some bandages from standard pictures?

This looks good. I'd like to request that this is made as a mod too, i e just starting positions, and also a smaller version for us poor people with slower computers, as a scenario with 21 players will be quite big.
Ceaulin looks REALLY good, except for the hair in the modern age, which looks kinda "un-hair-like".

Poser will only allow me to swell a lip, or whince an eye etc. But You still have to cut in paste bandages, and paint bruises/blood on the the image.
I 'll do it for the next one.

You spell archipelago correctly but not scenario?

What time period will this take place?

My spelling sucks, take no notice.:)

Not really sure on a time period yet, i was just going to keep it open. I think a time period would limit leader profiles etc.

I was going to have Calgagus as the Lowland Pictleader, and he was about around the Roman time. Plus other leaders have a lot time between them.

If I keep them all around a specific date, the leaders will be pretty obscure and boring.
Plus you'll have people picking it to pieces over details.

I find it odd that you're calling it Atlantic Archipelago, when the main concentration seems to be on the British Isles.

Wessex head complete (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads4/Wessex_Completed.zip -- 468KB)

Notes:
  • For the beatup head, I just pasted some bandaids from some of the other leaders onto him; it looks decent enough to me. I can do that for future heads as well.
  • For the advisor all image, I pasted the ancient teeth onto the others to make them happy and the eyes/furrowed brow to make them sad. It's adequate, but you might want to make happy/sad emotions for all eras for future heads.
  • The zip has the files arranged in the proper Art subfolders but I've named them in my own style which I find easier to keep track of.

I did a quick test in-game which showed all the flics, all the ancient advisor emotions, and some of the victory/defeat icons so I'm pretty confident there are no transparency issues, but I've been wrong before ;)

Also, do you want me to just put the completed ones back here like this or should I make a thread in graphics modpacks?

Thanks alot pdescobar.

I'll try to make the happy/mad faces for each era, although the backgrounds may differ. I don't think thats a big deal though. Its going to take a bit longer to get the next one up.

I think you should post them up in the graphics forum for others to use. I'll be making up 9 more, and I can release them with the scenerio. You can leave a link here aswell for myself, to make them easier to find.
Like I said, It will be a good while before I can really start on this, so theres no reason for me to be greedy and hold back on all the good work your doing.

Maybe you should keep them all in the same thread (?), I don't know, whatever way you think is best.

I'd want to put them all in one thread I think. I should probably work up some kind of readme file and throw it in there before I do so, though. I'll make up some kind of documentation in the next few days and post a generic thread like "British Isles/Atlantic Archipelago Static Leaderheads" linking to here for further info on the mod. You'll get the bulk of the credit for the heads though as you did the models. I'm just cutting & pasting & occaisionally changing a palette ;) Maybe I'll write up a tutorial on this as I go along too; I don't recall ever seeing an all-encompassing "These are the files you need to create and this is how I do it" thread.

Don't worry too much about the background on the happy/mad faces; a good deal of it gets cutoff by the circle. And depending on how much contrast there is between the guy and the background, if you gave me the background image I might be able to paste it around him. I'm getting pretty good with the magic wand ;) Oh, and make sure you look through the wessex stuff I did and check for any obvious weirdness. :)

I had a look at the the other eras happy/mad.

The happy looks good, I'm not so sure about the mad. I don't think it will look so good when its up beside the other mad faces that have been done in poser.

I'll redo the eras in poser for him and post the files. We might as well keep them all looking smooth and similar.

Edit: Heres those new images:

Yeah, and I'm pretty sure I incorporated them into the files, but I guess I forgot to post it :D

Edit: Here's the updated zip

I can still do the others and I promise I'll have this one up in the graphics forum before Friday ;)
