As promised, but...

Before you dl, a little warning - this unit is only tested in flicster, because yesterday I deleted some savegames, only to realize that I need them to test further jets :rolleyes:

So today I had no savegame ready to test, and I hadn´t enough time to play Civ until I´m in the modern age again.

However, since it looks good in flicster I decided to release it. If there are things not working, please report me, I´ll fix it. :)

@Bebo - I was wondering if you can make the MiG-31 Foxhound. Here are some of the pictures of what it looks like

CivGeneral, I like the MiG 31 too, but for the moment I´m unfortunately busy with other stuff. I´d love to make all requested jets, but I doubt that I can, because of time and other issues. As said, for the moment I´ll take a break from creating jets, except some updates of older units. What the future brings, we will see... ;)
 
I love this plane but I haven't really thought of a way to incorporate it into the game. Too bad you can't make it good at destroying tanks. How is everyone else using it?

Thanks for finishing this requested unit, whats next for you, land units or sea?

My plan fo this jet is to make it a land based fighter (not loadable on carriers nor have the intercept flag) and give it leathal land bombard. So its roll will be a short range bomber.

I belive the US army is the ones using this jet not the air force or navy.
 
Well, for the next weeks I have to work on my X-Com mod.

Maybe I´ll make other units during that time, but not at this rate I released the recent units. Ideas I have alot but nothing is finally decided yet ;)
 
Have i said how much i like this unit? Great! I´ve tested it against the russians. There are not many tanks left.:lol:

BeBro ..... Just a piece of advice rather then playing the game till the modern age you should set up a test mod chose one civ in the mod that has all techs set it up with 5 starting cities each with any resources you might need to build something in its proximity make sure ya have a coastal city ..... make all units your testing available to that civ and presto no need to play to the modern age or wait to get a tech to test a unit :D
 
uh..or u can just make the unit require no tech, no strategic resources, and a cost of 1 so u can build it right away and fast :)

Actually, what I do is just set the unit I want to test, to be 10 resources, and has no prerequisite, and only for the Romans, then I just load up a quick game, build my new unit, then send them off to do things, and check the animations and all that.

Of course, this method doesn't check the game balance issues of the new unit, it's stats, or how the AI uses it, but it's the fastest way to make sure the unit's FLCs are all in order.


Edit: lol, I just noticed papajohns already mentioned that idea, in fewer words! :p

You can build planes without an airport. You just can't rebase them. I actually have air units begin to appear 3 or 4 advances before airports are available. Why? I think I did that so airlift wouldn't be available until just prior to WWII. Who knows what I was thinking...
 
beside the rebase, the airport makes all air unit that u build veterans... without it, they are regulars....
 
Not to nitpick, but isn't this an A10 Warthog and not a Thunderbolt? I could be mistaken.
