Ladies and Gentlemen of the GoTM, I must say I'm very honored to receive the first ever special award nomination. Hey, I think this was a great idea --- whoever thought of it. Many thanks to Matrix for the nomination. I guess an explanation is in order. When I started that blockade, I had not yet colonized all the continents. However, I already had the peace bonus and didn't know if I would get it back in time. Plus, I didn't want the Carthiginians going anywhere. I had a few calvary and destroyers left from my last conquest so I wanted Carthage to be bottled up. Wanted a high score ( for my skill level ) and didn't want anything screwing it up. Also, when initiated, there were still sea-born barbarians and I didn't want any "accidents" when I was looking elsewhere. Lastly, I will conclude by saying,


" you like me ---- you really, really like me!"

Just a note to all... remember these are the "people's" awards... that is, your game could really stink, you could be new to Civ II, or a budding GOTM contender... anyone who submits a game to Matrix is eligible to be nominated .

Today's game tip: Once Mobile Warfare is discovered, there will be no new Sea Barbs!

I think Smash deserves a nomination based on the pictures he posted at http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?threadid=6018. Actually, there are several possible nominations there...
Most self-consciously funny ICS usage?
Highest Camel presence in city names?
Or the time-honored funniest city names? But I haven't seen the other games, so I couldn't say...

It looks like once again you'll have to come up with most of the awards starlifter...unless you've been receiving lots of secret self-nominations?
