Previous TC Thread

This will be an on-line game play session

Things whent well in the Turn Chat of Aug 10th. We have enough gpt to boost our science rate to 100% and researching an average of 2.5 Techs per TC. In the TC we have discovered 2 Techs ToG and Physics. Though we whent in a bump road with a Free Artistry debates but luckly the Science Leader said, "Go for ToG".

A Tragity has trucked during the Turn Chats. The Persians have built the Smiths and the Germans have built Shakespear. Luckly Donsig had the specifc instructions incase that ever happened. (And I think he was reading my mind also). After the discovery of ToG, I switched the Palace-Pre build to an advalible wonder, Newtons, and compleated it within 1 turn.

Since we are fastly approaching the Industrial Age. It is time to start Planing to build the ToE to make our Tech race accelerate even further. We should also aim for the Steam Engine so that we can connect our country side with steal with iron horses.

NOTICE: Please reserve this thread for instruction posts by Department Leaders. This is not a discussion thread.

Instructions from the Head Of Science, Currently on a Lecture Tour in Penguinadua Universityt (PU) "Shakespeare, the Germans and Why They Suck"
Once the anarchy calms down and its safe for me to leave my seaside bunker in Nafstac, begin research on Magnetisim. Follow that by Steam Power.

T/Cs every three days? I'll live, I'm just a little slower moving than you guys.

Quirnial Instructions:
Shaitan: Courthouse
DePaoblo: Courthouse
Malvern Hill & Cold Harbour: Sorry governors, this time I will have to switch these to workers. Worker factories. They are very corrupt, courthouses wont help.
PDXIII: Temple, Worker, Worker.
South Bootia: Aqueduct, Granary. Please try to irrigate the area, if possible
Bootia: Harbour, Worker, Worker.
Gingerbread City: Aqueduct, Granary
Yet Another City: Granary, Worker, Worker.

Governors: I grant you permission to chance the granaries to Aqueducts, or the Aqueducts to granaries, just tell the DP, quoting this. Sorry about ignoring your queues, but the size 12 plan is a national project of importance.

Worker instructions: bring irrigation up from Cold Harbour Lake up to bootia, using as little squares as possible. These cities are getting Aqueducts, they need to use them.

Government
Change government type to Democracy if the "right now" option in this poll has 67% or more of the vote. Since this is an informational poll, it can be used to judge if there is significant opposition to the plan, and the leader responsible (me) can act without a further poll if it is clear what the people want. I choose a 2-1 margin as sufficient. :D

Sliders
Keep science high enough to maintain it between -50gpt and +50gpt. Obviously the turns in anarchy don't count... As always, lower it two turns before a tech is discovered to the lowest value which stays 2 turns, and again one turn before to the lowest value which stays 1 turn. Raise it after the tech is discovered back to the above range.

While we are in anarchy, the gpt terms from other civs continue, so the treasury will grow.

Specialists
If you have to create entertainers due to unhappieness during anarchy (a possibility and I don't know the scientific way to predict it), see if they can be scientists instead. We will get beakers towards our current project from all the scientists. In fact, if you feel like converting some extra scientists down to the point that population will not fall during anarchy, they will all produce beakers and we might get a turn or two of progress on tech. Just remember to change them all back once we're back into Democracy... :crazyeye:

Budget
Rushes of aqueducts are pre-approved up to 120g each and a total of 480g, but only when we're not in anarchy and only if the food in that area will support growth.

Upgrades of veteran knights to cavalry are pre-approved up to a total of 400g, if requested by the Military Dept. Don't waste any money on upgrading regulars. Don't upgrade spears or pikes until we find out what the new budget will be.

Orders from last t/c still hold....

Any New Musketmen or Riflemen should be evenly distrubted among River Crossing, Memphis, Omalu, and New Jedina.

Any New Knights or Cavalry built should be stationed in Omalu in case of a need to launch a counter-offensive.

If we get Military Tradition Upgrade vet Knights to Cavalry up to the amount approved by Daveshack.

Treaties: Do not sign or break any treaties (Peace Treaty, ROP, MA, MPP, Trade Embargo) this turnchat.

Embassies: No embassy construction this turn.

City investigations: None this turnchat.

War Declarations: Do not declare war on any country this turnchat. If any troops are told to move off another country's territory, you are to do so. If war is declared on us, sign no treaties or alliances during this particular turnchat. I strongly advise you to stop the chat if this is the case.

Tribute Demands:

Reject a tribute demand if:
-More than 50 gold or 3 gold per turn is demanded
-A technology not believed to be known by other civs is demanded
-A resource or luxury is demanded
-England demands tribute

If a demand does not violate these guidelines, please hold a spot vote to determine whether to accept it or reject it.

Esquiline

Babs Landing. Put laborer from forest to mined grassland. It will gain us 1 food.
Also change build queue to Aquaduct - harbor. There is no need for a marketplace if all money is lost to corruption anyway.

Wandering gnome hills. Remove the knight from the buildqueue and include a granary; Aquaduct - granary - worker - etc.

North shore. Change the library to a harbor. Then build an Aquaduct. No need for lib right now.

Palatine. It's current BQ is marketplace - worker - worker. Change it to Marketplace - harbor - we'll after that.

Klixus Major. Move the laborer from the roaded grassland S -> SE of the city center to the sea. Gains us 1 more commerce and 2 more research.
Change the BQ to University -- Granary

Go Home Xerxes. 1 turn change. move the laborer from the roaded forest to the sea. We have enough shields and we can use the 1 extra commerce for 2 extra research.
Change the BQ to aquaduct - harbor. No need for knights from Esquiline.

Persian Landing. Why build a library now ? It needs a harbor. When it has a harbor it can build whatever it likes (probably workers).

Skunkworks. build granary and aftar that either workers or culture (university).

The Ministry of Trade

I post these orders at Eklektikos' request.

In two turns, the following deals expire:

(Fanatica) <-> Furs + 41gpt (China)
(Fanatica) <-> Spices (Japan)

See what it takes to renew them then.

The following two deals expire in the 7th and 8th turn, respectively.

(Fanatica) Wines <-> 10gpt (Persia)
(Fanatica) <-> Gems (Russia)

All those will likely require some sort of tech to get. Discussion will take place as necessary, as I will be present for the majority of the turn chat.

This is a very important one.
(Fanatica) Dyes <-> Free Artistry + WM + 9gpt + 122g (Germany)

Please complete that trade during the preturn.
