Of course, crocodiles, who are cladistically closer to birds and mammals are, are not endotherm, so if mammalian and avian endotherm does have a common origin, then crocks have lost endothermy, which suggest the same could happen for a dinosaur lineage.

Of course this is possible. The number one thing to remember about evolution is that there is not destination. Evolution only happens, for good or bad.
