Counterproposal of:

Current Austria UA:
+50% rewards from :c5citystate: City-State Quests. May arrange Marriages with Allied City-States using :c5gold: Gold. While at peace with the City-State, Marriages increase resting :c5influence: Influence by 200, grant 1 Extra World Congress Delegate, and boost :c5greatperson: Great People generation in the :c5capital: Capital by 15%.

Marriage cost:
500 :c5gold: Gold + 100 per previous marriage (including dead CS), scaling with game speed.

The cost breaks even at 6 marriages.

Spoiler Cumulative gold cost for X marriages :

Blue = old cost, Green = new cost

Rationale:
Austria only needs a nerf. Removing the extra vote and increasing the later marriage cost (so it costs more to marry later on) are the only things that need to be changed.

There were complain about influence going up to 200 after marriage, in the early game ; maybe change resting to 75, scaling with era ?

Feels like an overnerf. She needs some early game power to continue to survive.

Made a proposal, and it doesn't look like a nerf to me (the 75 scaling influence).
You rarely compete that much in the early against other players.
By Medieval, you are at 150 resting, slightly weaker than 200.
By Renaissance, you are gaining 25 over the base 200.
In the Atomic era, where you could start to aim for UN, you are at 450 influence.

450 resting influence is a lot. At 1000 influence we're talking about a +18.7 influence per turn compared to 0 resting influence.

Yes it is, but marriage used to freeze all decay at all levels entirely forever… and a WC vote.

It was an oversight to still allow them to freeze all decay when it was increased exponentially. Back then, 1000 influence simply meant -10 influence per turn. Not saying it wasn't OP, but 450 resting influence is more than that.

I sponsor this.
