ALT-TAB troubles

I have trouble Alt-Tabing out of the game. When I hit Alt-tab my monitor goes game to black to game. Than I have to hit alt tab a second time to get another program.
Is this normal behaviour? If not how to I change it. I´m running Win7

If you want to alt-tab a lot play in Windowed mode instead of fullscreen. While I do wish every game alt-tabbed perfectly many of them do not (Bethesda's games for example really do NOT like alt-tabbing more than once or twice).
