Hey CivFans,

How can I modify a certain unit to accept a different animation?

For example, if a unit uses the Cossack animation, what can I do to make it use the vanilla Cavalry animation?

I appreciate any help that you can provide. :)

That depends on if the skeleton is compatible to the animation or not.
If you already have nifskope there, you can open the unit with it and attach the animation of question to the unit. If it works, then fine, it's compatible :), and you have to adjust the .kfm to make the unit use it ingame (see here), else you'll have to transplant the whole skeleton over :/.

If they are compatible it should already be sufficient to rename the new animation to the name of the old animation and put it in the folder instead of the old one. For example, if the idle animation should be switched, rename the cavalry_md_idle.kf to russiancossack_md_idle.kf and put this new russiancossack_md_idle.kf in the cossack folder, deleting the original russiancossack_md_idle.kf during the process.
