...Has a Mac user ever played a game on release?

I'm also sad that i will not be able to play it , because i will not buy it .
Your loss man, making yourself strong for a cause no one is interested in...
I am very sad because I won't play it on release. Since I live in europe. And even more sad since it's a digital download, so it makes no sense at all. I'm sure it makes some sense because of evil agreements with evil retailers, but for us, it's a nonesense discrimination.
Me too.
Consider this is a Civfanatics forum and then these polls:
Thread: Civilization 5 and Steam(works)
Question: How will the integration of Steam(works) influence your decision on buying Civ5?
Answer: I will definitely NOT buy the game, because of Steam - 91 votes
Thread: What worries you the most about the Civ 5 yet?
Question: What annoys you mostly?
Publishing (Steam, Deluxe edition, DLC). - 151 votes
Add to that the Civfanatics that didn't vote in the polls and/or only posted once on this sub-forum that they wouldn't purchase the game and then disappeared.
I wouldn't call that "a cause no one is interested in". I call that "lost sales".
Forums only represent a vocal minority. A very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very small minority. It's not a representative of any other population in terms of making business decisions. Those polls aren't of any use to 2K/Firaxis other than telling them that 242 people won't buy Civ 5. You can't infer anything else other than that.

Why won't you be buying it The J? And yeah Skwink, you can just use boot-camp. Very simple. Just search boot camp in Finder.

I'd completely get rid of my pc (since I have a mac, I don't need the two) if it wasn't for Civ. I honestly... can't live without that game. My friends and I are constantly meeting just to play in a small lan party and Civ is perfect for that. And since it's better to keep the barbarians away (==windows) - the pc is here to stay
I just wonder - will the mac version be steam connected now, that steam in on MacOS...
