Are there hidden Steam achievements?

When I check the status of my Steam achievements, it says that I have completed 160/228 achievements. When I show all achievements, there are only 16 which I have not completed. Once I finish all of these, there will only be 176 achievements. Are there some which are not displayed?

There's 52 which are in the expansion that aren't included on personal achievement stats yet, but are in the global page

...so even though the expansion isn't out yet, it is impossible to get all the achievements without having the expansion? Nice!

Wonders if all 52 will work when G & K is released, or is that too much to ask?

Did they ever clean out the unused achievements, or are those still there? I know the Degrees of Sid is gone, but I don't remember what the others were to look for them.

See the achievements debug file in the logs. But if you've ever enabled that, you need to turn that on first.

(As a bonus it will also show your progress towards several achievements)
