August 3rd - Consolidated information thread.

Or Tamerlane unless they wanted to create a Timurid Civ

Or Babur even though that's getting a bit down the line. He'd be an interesting character though. I read excerpts of his book for a class, and he really seemed like a guy with some varied interests. Heh, one page would be beautiful, flowing poetry; another day he'd be out in the field with his friends getting high from chewing some crazy root; here's some long passage about god and appreciating nature; and oh yeah did I mention that I built another tower of severed heads the other day? Heh.

Mughals might be a pretty fun civ down the road somewhere.

In this IGN video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_8LoR4zLVE) @ 0:21, it shows the envoys to a city state being lost when war was declared on it.

Also a clear view of unimproved gypsum, a luxury resource. It has a shimmering animation very noticeable @ 5:29.

@AriochIV - Seems like there is enough footage now that should be able to group or at least classify the resources as luxury, bonus or strategic now on your page.

Apparently some wonders also give bonus policy slots. So if you are Fascist and get the Forbidden Palace (+1 wild card slot) and Alhambra (+1 war slot) and wanted to, you could come at someone with eight war cards slotted.

Of course the other governments could score those wonders too. It's just impressive to think of what you might be able to do with 8 policy slots. Especially rolling toward a Democracy with just 1 or 2 measly cards in play. :D

Ha,that's a fun scenario to envision. Let's hope that Democracy spent time on its Artillery and Air Force :). No amount of policies will get through advanced range and a river, it looks like.

In the video on gamestar.de they mention that Genghis Khan is a Great General with bonuses on cavalry.

Great! This means they'll save Mongolia for an expansion where they can take their time to find the best way to properly depict the unparalleled Mongol empire!

Optimists are so great!

The strategic resources are identified in the tech tree, but I don't currently see any way to distinguish luxury from bonus resources.

It is indicated by the tooltip. Marbozir and others mouse over many of them in their games.

Most of the videos are so painful to watch :/ It feels like most of the guys releasing the videos have never played civilization before.

BTW where the hell did shadows go? There are none.

So "influence" comes from government type (and policies)...and leads to Envoys
Things to find out...can you generate multiple envoys? (Do they "cost" 100 influence so you get 1/33 turns...or is it just at thresholds)

Yep. Close your eyes and think of the Queen.

They're present in most of the previews, but a few appear to be played on machines with the graphic settings turned down.

Marbozir's and Quill's game were quite choppy for some reason (Marbozir's primarily when meeting Montezuma and Quill's in general)
