Is there any resource to see which types of units (e.g. archery, recon, melee) can get which promotions? For example, I know recon units couldn't normally get city garrison and only disciple units can get medic. The FfH2 manual doesn't include that information and the Civilopedia dumped ALL promotions into the Promotions field for every unit, so it appears that any unit can get any promotion, which obviously isn't the case. I don't necessarily need something in-game, just any resource for that would help. Even a spreadsheet.

So the civilopedia for a particular unit actually only shows the promotions/effects that that unit can actually obtain. Anything that unit can not get (with the only exception being races unless that unit is always a certain race) will not show in that list. So an adept does not have the promotion shock 1 nor the effect enchanted blade in it's list because it's not possible to get either of them on an adept within the rules of the game. So a warrior can't get itself hasted but if an adept cast the haste spell the warrior does qualify for it and will get it and that's why hasted is listed under promotions for the warrior's entry. What's probably frustrating you is that the promotion field on a unit's civilopedia entry shows both promotions and effects and since effects are not obtained via experience points then you are less interested it seeing them in the list. So by looking at the promotion's entry instead of the unit's entry you can go to the promotions category of the civilopedia and click on them all and just learn/memorize which categories can get which promotions that way. Or you can use the promotion tree if you prefer that.
