My system struggles to run CIV 5 properly. The main problem is visual so I assume it's my graphics card. Wanted to check with you guys before I went and bought a new one.

Everything is so jerky in the game. When I scroll across the world, it takes a while for the screen to catch up. Movement of units and resources (like cows) is incredibly jerky to point where it slows down the game. It also takes a good 10 seconds for the area I'm focused on to render all details properly.

Also, the game simply won't start when I choose DirectX 11. I'm forced to play on 9.

My specs:
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600)
System Manufacturer: Packard Bell
System Model: imedia S3720
BIOS Default System: BIOS
Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU E3300 @ 2.50GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
Memory: 2048MB RAM
Page file: 1435MB used, 2147MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

My graphics card
Name: NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / NVIDIA nForce 630i

Any help would be much appreciated.

Looking at your system:
Your processor is ok
You could stand another GB (2 would be better) of RAM since you're running Win-7.
I'm surprised your GFX card is running the game at all. Definitely need an upgrade there in order for it to run well.

Thanks for the pointers!

Seen recommended graphics cards elsewhere so I now know what I'll be buying with my next pay slip.
