[BTS] MarnzMod

Now this is a weird one. After a couple of hours, the score board lost all the other nations. Mine was the only name and score listed, as at the beginning of the game. I could still contact other states through the diplomacy advisor. This happened after Churchill contacted me to ask for technology.

Are you using any testers, BMarnz? That might stop some small fixes :).

How do I get BUG to work?
I can get in the meny but the changes doesn´t happens.
In the ini file is everything alright, but nothing happens.

Why not just do a new full d/l with VD 3.1 and get rid of all those other ones??

I like to offer options. :) Besides can't really add anything new until I've squashed all the bugs.:ar15:

That's weird. Probably related to BUG mod. Let me know if it happens again.

Yes, everyone who downloads the mod is a tester. :rolleyes:

You're not the only one with this problem. What file structure do you use? Should be: Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\MarnzMod

If the flashing reminder bothers you read post #353

That wouldn't be very nice for us that already have the full version and just need patches. I only hope patch f has all of the fixes. I skipped a couple because I didn't want to start a new game.

Every patch includes the fixes of all previous patches. :D

mine is E:\civ4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\MarnzMod

Is it something i need to modify?

That should be right if that's the where the game was installed. As long as it's not the MODS folder the game puts in the MyDocuments/MyGames/ folder.

This is a great mod, Marnz! Your mod really adds what original civ lacks.

I don't know if any one else is being annoyed of this, but have you ever considered making a stack limit in your mod? I'm asking because of my current game, Sobieski sends one 50+ unit stack and one 40+ stack. I know I should have prepared for it, but a 50+ stack feels a little... ridiculous :p And a stack would might even open up for some tactics, instead of just massing a horde, Gengis khan style.

PS: It's not just the fact that the AI is going to kick me really hard, I have thought about this for some time.

Excellent Mods! However, I have a feeling that SE is too strong in this mod!

With proper civic(such as private medic,rep,indepdent farm,private school...)&tech&wonder, a grass land farmed finally produces 6 food, which means 2 science specialist. That's 9*2 beaker(not to metioned the gold&culture from civ, and hammer if you have plato academy) , yet with a CE focused civic,a town can produce just about 12(?) commerce&1 hammer .I don't see the reason to run CE in this mod!

However, the AI still spam cottage, this make them easy to be defeated since their science output is too much less than the SE I used!

in this mod and in the core game I have limited the number of instances of each unit. I experimented a lot before getting a formula that still delivers a good tough game, but without silly spam and long tedious late game wars. The mod has such good late game units that it's a pity to opt for space race just to avoid the tedium. Here's my formula;

all units up to Infantry/marines= 15 (12 also plays out as a good game)

Paratroopers = 15

AT infantry, mech inf / modern armour / artillery /mobile sam/ ... all late game stuff = 8

All naval = 8 ( but more transports and Galleons)

All air = 8

airships 2 (or zero. I don't like them)

ICBM / tac nuke = 4

you can enjoy the late game more.

Maybe you just clicked on your name. If you do that all the others go away till you click your name again and then they come back.

No, while I wasn't aware that was a normal feature, I clicked on my name several times after they vanished.

I'm having the same problem. The health bars appear, but the clock doesn't.

Hello marnz heads . I'm gonna start a game in the strategy forum where people can give me advice about what to do next.

bmarnz, you OK with that ??? I'm sure you will be. Too late because I started it already. The mod is too good to just be in 'creation and cust'.

It would be great if some posters here put a few ideas into the game for me.

I'm playing Roosevelt/ Prince and will probably go for an SE, inspired by mikesonic.

I suck at SE so I need help.

here's the link

I remember there is a good guide to SE posted in the war academy that you may find helpful. In this mod, because of those additional happy&health resource, Running SE is also much easier than vanilla.

You probably would like to use a Phi leader to maximum the benefit of SE.or spiritual leader to frequently switch between the civic. So Gandhi might be a good choice IMO. When running a SE, you can frequently whip your city to get your infrastructure set up quickly since you have much more food than running CE. But the Capital should build cottages mostly to benefit more from Bureaucracy.

Question or bug:

How do I set the rally point for a city? I've tried what is in the Civlopedia.(Shift + RMB). When I have unit active(just produced) in the city and then do the Shift+RMB on a tile (say 10 squares) away, it just sends the one unit and not any future produced units.

Also, is there a way to auto assign promotions for built units so I can just set(like a build queue) the ones I want to give for the autobuilds?

thanks!

@Coca_carola
I look into stack limits. What do you think it should be?

@mikesonic
I'll try to find a way to boost cottages/towns. :)

@mice
I'm not sure about limiting individual units. Could be a problem when using different map sizes. :(

I have no problem with a srategy thread. Don't think I could add much. I usually play one game then work on next update.

@Ionopachys
I wonder if BUG problems depends on each system. Is it possible for you to test this by downloading BUG and trying as a stand alone mod. I wonder if it works by itself or if it's only a problem when used in my mod. :confused:

@Zuul
I'll consider max xp from animal/barb increase.

@ravenone
Sorry, I never use rally points. And I don't know anyway to preset promos.

:D

I remember reading a thread about modding the leader traits to be better balanced. Perhaps you could give Financial (or Expansive?) leaders a +1 flat bonus from Towns or Cottages, because to me it seems reasonable to encourage SP/GP economies versus cottage for most cases.
