Hey Guys, So I just installed the UPVEM through the Steam Workshop, and when I try to start a game I'm greeted with the defeat screen as soon as I click start game.

Are you sure it was UP+VEM v131 you were trying to use via Steam workshop?
I just got back from dinner, but before I left the only Thal mod available on the Steam workshop was just v1 of the separate UP only mod.
Unfortunately, the UP v1 mod does not seem to work properly yet when using the latest v614 patch to Civ-V.
Thal is a very good modder, though, so just give him a lttle breathing room, and I'm sure he'll be able to update UP (or possibly even UP+VEM) to fully working status soon.

I'd recommend playing the unmodded game for a week or so before using any mods. It will take modders a while to adjust our projects to the changes.
