Capto Iugulum

We are very happy to hear that democracy and freedom is being protected in your lands while Proletarian regimes are spreading so rampantly in this world.

Proletarism is not incompatible with democracy. Perhaps you will be able to speak of democracy without stinking of hypocrisy and lies when you democratize labor, and free the workers from wage-slavery. Until then, your cries for global self-determination and self-representation ring as hollow lies.

We never dictated anything. We do not have the power to do so. We were merely making an international observation. Do you feel threatened by opinions that go contrary to your interests?

Furthermore, the Panamanians expressed in 1833 their desire for independence from Colombia. Brazil is simply returning an unwelcome power for their own imperial gain, which we find disconcerting.

We are glad you feel this way. Indeed, Florida stands strong against the proletarist rabble and shall be a shining beacon of freedom and democracy in a dark world of tyranny and proletarism that surrounds us.

TO: Brazil
FROM: Japan

As we have stated to Brazil in the past, Japan has no interest in owning Panimanian soil. It is of no interest to us who owns the Canal, so long as trade is able to flow. We simply desire compensation for our investment into the construction of the Canal. The agreement was made that we would invest 100 EP in exchange for a future return of 110 EP OR lowered tariffs on merchant goods. Now, the Canal has passed hands, but that is of no concern to Japan. Whoever holds the Canal holds the debt. We have no desire of violating the sovereignty of whoever possess the Panama Canal, but we do expect them to pay the debt that is tied to the land. This is neither belligerence nor extortion. This is merely economics.

We hope your nation can grow strong and push away the threats in the former United States of America. Those Proletarians that seek to sink their claws into the backs of the rightful leaders of their nations need to be stopped. Hopefully they do not spread through Florida.

How sad it is that the hard work and legitimate investments of other nations, respected even in after times of war, are taken by pathetic, barbaric thieves.

This is the year the Grand Republic of Florida drafts a constitution for our nation to bring peace, democracy, and freedom to our people. We invite international observers to see for themselves so that they know that the process was undergone legitimately, sincerely, and without underhanded grabs for power by Governor Jeeter. We never want to feel tyranny in our lands again, and this convention shall be a proud moment in our history. We invite the world to partake.
The Kingdom of Vinland is willing to dispatch observers to Florida, as it has to Hispaniola and Puerto Rico, in order to oversee the establishment of a proper democratic state.

Again, we would like to invite you to send doctors to our research hospital this year. Would you be willing to do so?

Most excellent! We are pleased with your support, and hope you enjoy your stay. Also, should any of your immigrants desire to live in a country with a common cultural heritage and language, feel welcome to bring them along to find a new home in our land. We will be happy to have them.

Apologies with the delayed response, our offices have been somewhat busy as of late.

We are concerned about blocking physicians possessed of particular ideological alignments from researching at your proposed facility. Why, specifically, do you see fit to block people based on their political views alone?

We will soon be working to determine the wishes of the American refugee population currently present in Vinland. If they choose to immigrate, learn Vinlandic and live as loyal citizens of the Konungariket, then they may do so. If they wish to continue to live as Americans, then we will make arrangements so that they may gain affordable transport back to the post-American states. Your enthusiasm to receive refugees has been noted, and certainly if there are large numbers who wish to return to America but do not know where, we will mention your openness.

We believe that the Proletarians pose a threat to the well being of all nations and people of the world. With that said, we will not allow anyone from a Proletarian nation come into Italy. It is nothing against the people, but the rulers of those people. Italy is completely against Proletarian rulers for the way they seize their power and run their nations.

As a the democratically-elected Statsminister of the Vinlandic Riksdag, and as a proud member of the Socialproletärpartiet, I disagree with your assessment of my leadership, and would advise that you reconsider this aspect of your outlook on the world, as it oversimplifies a complex social and political phenomenon.

After a negotiation with the army (they are all hardline communists), Commander and High Overseer Erick Acero accepted the demand of the army that no state owned company will be saled and that the economy will stay Communist. In return, the army allowed Erick to declare free elections. The Political parties start their campaigns all over the country and try to gain voters.

This is a great day for my people. For the first time in quite a few years, we are capable of ruling ourselves. We are ready, willing, and able to do so. We have not yet determined a course for our nation politically or economically, as we currently are trying to only keep ourselves in one piece.

OOC: Wait...what?

I PM'd the mod and he said I should take Atzlan. Did I miss something?

Well, during Christos's [Short] run as Atzlan it became a Socialist State or something, not sure if that is still valid.

It is not valid. EQ said as much. Any statements carried out by new players who have not yet sent orders are not the actual words of their nation. Basically Christos' brief run with Aztlan has been slashed from the canon. ;)

I belive that was overturned because christos ended up taking Ecuador instead. Mostly because he wanted to play a communist.
