Civ 5 Reload Autosave Crash

This has happened on my last two games and I can't seem to find anything online about it.

When I reload the last autosave (or the previous three earlier saves), the game reloads, but gets stuck with a 'please wait' message over the 'next move' button. Also, the landscape is completely covered with ocean tiles. I can still see all my units and cities, and even select them, but cannot move them as the game appears to be totally frozen. Anyone seen this. I have verified my cache and had it on two games in a row with Nesapatania (close enough). Any fix, or should I just start a new game and save differently.

Probably an issue with my system as new games doing the same now. New graphics card being installed this week. May solve the problem.

Hope the new graphics card helps. On my laptop, graphics problems (different behavior from yours, but still quite bothersome) presaged motherboard failure, which was no fun indeed. (And it turns out the graphics card was just fine....)
