Civic Redesign

Don't you think I've already done that?! I deleted a lot of Windows components too. Otherwise I can't even install DoC. I also needed to empty the cache of Google Chrome.
Stop installing so many things to your SSD. I'd argue even Civ doesn't need to be on it :)

I concentrate here various sugestions on civics.

Government coloumn:
*Chiefdom
*City states (effect same as old city-states), requires writing
*Dynasticism
*Theocracy
*Dictatorship (renamed autocracy)
*Republic (same effects, but requires democracy)

Organisation coloumn:
*Direct rule
*Senate (requires literature, medium maintainance): +1:) in cities with lower than 8 population
*Vassalage
*Absolutism
*Totalitarianism
*Parliamentarism (effects same as egalitarianism), requires constitution

Labour coloumn:
*Tribalism: Cannot use specialists
*Slavery: Specialists cost :(
*Agrarianism: Specialist consume :food:
*Capitalism: Specialists consume :commerce:
*Industrialism: Specialists consume :hammers:
*Public Welfare: Specialists consume :science:

The amount of maluses depedents on era, in fact it is the era modifier.

Economy:
*Guilds: double production of forge, market, grocer, +1:commerce: per specialist (high maintainance)
*Mercantilism: no foreign trade routes, Trading Company produces stability points

TBH I don't like theocracy. Fanaticism should be renamed theocracy and find an other government civic. What comes in mind are:

Personal Union: (requires military tradition, high maintainance) -25% maintainance (removed from totalitarianism), +:5) in 6 biggest cities

Some names (Kalmar Union, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, United Kingdom, Habsburg Empire) will be triggered by this civic.

Federalism: (requires mass media, high maintainance): enables permanent alliances

Federalism simulates supranational organisations like EU

Dat thread necro. When I saw this thread some minutes ago I was like "What, again? What's wrong with the current civics?" but then I noticed that it was an older thread.

Worst necro ever. I sat around reading this thread for almost 15 minutes before I realized it's all old news.

I don't really see why this is necessary... the only civics that I personally think need a change is Scholasticism, which seems very underpowered compared to Organized Religion and even Fanaticism, which is borderline. Everything else has a niche.
