CivWin on Windows 7 Home Edition - 64 bit

Any idea on how to get it to work? My little brother is having problems with it on his new computer, and I'm getting a Windows 7 computer at Christmas - would really like a way to still be able to play Civ Original. I've read that Virtual machines can make it work - but where would I find a good virtual machine for Windows, rather than a DOS emulator (which is all I can find)?

I guess theoretically you could run Civilization on Wine, except there's no native Windows port, so you'd need to run Wine on top of Cygwin. That's kind of insane, though. You'd be running API calls from Win16 to POSIX then to Win32.
