Colonization Crashing

Well I just got colonization up and running on my sysytem. I'm running Windows ME and every time I get my first Congressman, the game crashes. Any idea of a way I can fix this?

I had a problem with crashing some time ago, although it was not triggered by a specific event. It was caused by low conventional memory, so I turned off sound, and it worked great.

Yeah, get a new operating system

There is a patch that is out, sorry I cannot give a link, but I had the same problem, just search hard on Google.

Its the best website I've found for Colonization and offers several add-ons, utilities, and patches for the game.

Yes, it's been around for some time with the url being changed a few times. IIRC the guy who wrote it was a Legard although I can't find his name on the current site.

The dates of the contriubutions say a lot about the age of the game!
