Create a sign

I forget how to create one of the sign markers on the map.
Can someone refresh my memory real quick?

Zoom out to Globe View. Above the minimap, there should be abutton for Strategy Layer. From there, click New Sign. To delete it...click Delete.

Do you have to zoom out to do it?
When I zoom out, I can't make anything out on the map anymore.
It seems to defeat the purpose.

Yes, with Alt-S you don't have to zoom out at all.

you can name mountains and battles. Or a famous battle near a mountain and call it battle of Mt Horror and combine both.
And forts, you can build a fort and call it Ft Horror and if there is a battle there ....

If I'm building a huge stack (50-100 units) I usually build a fort to keep it in and name the fort with a cool name using the sign feature. Or I name lands and continents I discover.

anything that helps immersion is welcome to me. i should start naming deserts,
rivers and oceans. The fort idea is a good one, also lets you set a unique rally point.
