Is there an ini or similar file that effects what flags are checked by default for
custom games? I find myself having to look over the flags frequently with each new game.

CivilizationIV.ini has the flags at line 213.

I think what happens is the flags stay if you use the same mod, but if you switch mods or start an unmodded game, then the flags reset.

Are you sure this is the right file for ROM AND? I didn't see the flags in my CivilizationIV.ini file.

Unless it is that GameOptions section.

I think what happens is the flags stay if you use the same mod, but if you switch mods or start an unmodded game, then the flags reset.

Even when exclusively playing ROM I still every now and then see the flags get reset. But weirdly enough some will ALWAYS remain checked even if the flags get reset.

Yes, that's the right file. The flags are the string of 0's and 1's under GameOptions. 1's correspond to options checked and 0's to unchecked.

I'm wondering why you have 2 sets of them, though. I wonder if that might be causing your problems.

Yeah I thought that looked odd, but I never touched the ini file before. All I did was install Civ 4 and ROM.

Kind of wish there was a way to tell what flag is which. I assume they are in the order
that the menu displays them, but even still it's frustrating to have to do it from memory.

Need to make a copy of the Option list. Then you have a handy reference.
