The Zulus lost their original capital. I sent a diplomat to their new capital. While the diplomat was en route, they recaptured their old capital. What will happen when the spy/diplomat arrives?

Also, suppose the diplomat had already arrived and then they recaptured their old capital. What would happen then?

This one has happened to me, and the Diplomat kept acting like a diplomat. So I think your Diplomat on route will be a diplomat when he arrives.
