Do you get carried away with Civ Iv?

How addictive is civ? I need to know before i get my copy, I want to know this so i can get prepared!
Could you also list some of the most addictive parts of the game?

dude just get it. its definitely a keeper of a game despite addiction. im not addicted yet but its one of those games u play every once in awhile for 50 hours at a time.

The only way I could possibly get it for the next week would be to fly to america and buy it! grr!
