Does anyone here play 1701A.D.?

And if you do, have you ever won independence? I've gotten to the point several times where I was 100% complete (either by paying off the Queen or beating her fleet) but she never came to my island to grant Independece. I once left the computer just running the game for almost two hours after beating her fleet, and nothing happened.

Nope sorry, never played 1604/3/2/whateveritwas very far either, but I loved playing around in the editor.

After several days of searching, I finally found a site with 1701 forums and am awaiting activation of my account, so hopefully I'll get an answer to this.

As Civ fans, we are quite lucky to have such an excellent site as this one is.

Just in case anyone is interested, you have to have "Guests of Honor" turned on for the Queen to show up and grant Independence. Apparently in this game the Queen is considered a Guest of Honor just like the tool maker and the beer guy.
