I recently got a message saying Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger has encountered an error and needs to close (that's the gist of it) and does that thing where it asks me to send an error.

I did a quick google search and mixed messages pop up.

From what I learned, it sends error logs to Microsoft so it's a good thing.

However people say it's a cover for AceBot the trojan, but they also say AceBot is now obsolete..

My computer is currently functioning normally and I am conducting a virus/spyware scan with Shaw Secure 2.0 (My Anti-virus, I looked in the About file and it says it has F-Secure Anti-Virus 7.30 on it. Shaw is my local Internet provider and I think it partnered with F-Secure or something..)

I don't know jack about computers, so help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your response.

I've researched it and found it that it's part of Windows, like you said. But the computer forums and such that I've browsed say that something nasty must have occurred for DrWatson to stop. (Well, actually, it was Yahoo Answers. <_<)

Nothing malicious has happened to my computer yet, and still everything is functioning normally. However this just fuels my suspicion that it may be AceBot stealthily lurking in my computer quietly messing it up...
