After many months of work, I finally have completed my Europe 2014 mod and published it to the Steam Workshop.

Link to Europe 2014: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1804263699

Spoiler :

Europe in the present day. Play as one of 22 nations as you compete for dominance in the modern age. Requires the Gods and Kings and Brave New World expansions.

In order to play, you must go to Mods, enable this mod, select Setup Game, and select a map first. You should be able to find the Europe 2014 map under Additional Maps. After that, you are free to select any of the civs, except Serbia, and enjoy the game.

Right now, Serbia is the only civ that crashes the game upon starting it up. I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but I'm hoping it can be fixed soon as I tease through the mod, looking for bugs.

Features
- Brand new religiously themed ideology, Islamism (replacing Order), is available at the start for Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Iran
- 13 new civs, with new unique units, buildings, and UAs
- Resources placed according to real life distribution
- Cities and rivers placed with near-perfect geographical accuracy
- Countries with populations proportional to real life
- Protestantism and Islam divided into multiple denominations
- New religious beliefs
- Modern war features including changing front lines, improved air reconaissance, submarines ignoring borders, missile cruisers with indirect fire, buffed helicopter gunships, planes and missiles with extended attack and rebasing range, and more
- 34 new European World Wonders to replace vanilla wonders not present in Europe, and 10 new European Natural Wonders made reusing vanilla wonder graphics
- Purchase City-States through the formation of Sovereign Unions

Civs:
1. Germany (Angela Merkel, Freedom)
2. United Kingdom (David Cameron, Freedom)
3. France (Francois Hollande, Freedom)
4. Italy (Matteo Renzi, Freedom)
5. Russia (Vladimir Putin, Autocracy)
6. Spain (Mariano Rajoy, Freedom)
7. Turkey (Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Islamism)
8. The Netherlands (Mark Rutte, Freedom)
9. Saudi Arabia (Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Islamism)
10. Sweden (Fredrik Reinfeldt, Freedom)
11. Poland (Donald Tusk, Freedom)
12. Iran (Hassan Rouhani, Islamism)
13. Israel (Benjamin Netanyahu, Freedom)
14. Egypt (Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Autocracy)
15. Greece (Antonis Samaras, Freedom)
16. Iraq (Nouri al-Maliki, Autocracy)
17. Hungary (Viktor Orban, Autocracy)
18. Morocco (Mohammed VI, Autocracy)
19. Ukraine (Petro Poroshenko, Freedom)
20. Syria (Bashar al-Assad, Autocracy)
21. Serbia (Aleksandar Vucic, Autocracy)
22. Jordan (Abdullah II, Autocracy)

While the map is stable, it is very large, with 461 cities, meaning it may run slowly on many computers. Also, if you're playing a very large civ like Russia, which has 71 cities on this map, please avoid using the Trade Route Overview, because the massive number of available trade routes listed can crash your game.

If you want to contribute to this mod, feel free to send me a message. I've been working on this all by myself and would freely accept additional help and assistance from an experienced modder.

Ahh, shoot. I forgot to tell you. In order to get information from the logs, you need to go to your config.ini file in Sid Meier's Civilization V, and find this line:

Code:
ValidateGameDatabase = 0

and change that number from 0 to 1. Otherwise information won't be validated within the log, which is why your log shows

Code:
[93107.781] *** SKIPPING Game Database Validation. ****
[93107.781] You can enable it by setting 'ValidateGameDatabase = 1' in config.ini

instead of any specific information about the code. I'll make sure to include these instructions on the bug reports page on the Workshop.

Can you post non-steam link, please? Steam sucks, downloading about 1 of 5 contents to me
