FfH2 Bug Thread

I have the same problem as Shatner. I've only found 2 solutions:

1: play smaller maps

or

2: be prepared to re-load every so many turns (I adjusted autosave to every turn because of this)

The first post of the FF bug thread has a link to possible solutions for MAF errors in both XP and Vista. Check it out, you might find a solution to your problem.
 
If this doesn't make sense I have a screenshot of the turn before.

1) Orthus is fortified on tribal village.
2) There is a Calabim city two tiles away. It has not yet expanded from city radius 1.
3) When the city expands, CtD (crash to desktop)

After the first crash (I didn't know why yet) I reloaded and it happened on the same turn. After that I took a look around the map in world builder, noticed Orthus fortied and removed him and then the game continued normally.
 
I had some times ago an issue with an event :

TXT_KEY event, allowing 3 TXT_KEY options....

I hope the few precision I still remember can help someone find the concerned event and help fix it.

option 1 ... ???
option 2 : 1 unhappy for some turn, 10%? xxx, 40 or 50% chance +1 :health: permanent in all cities
option 3 : 2 unhappy for some turn, 20%? xxx, 90% chance +2 :health: permanent in all cities

I kinda remember the text was about all cities. I only had my capital so I can't confirme it. Neither do I know if it applies to the newly build cities. (My first time at emperor so I don't know the "normal" :health: in a city).

The problem ??
it is an event in which all texts were "TXT_KEY_......"
on 1 line
and 3 options, each written "TXT_KEY_......"... but I had a notion of the results when highlighting the choics with my cursor.

I assume it means there is an un-attached string somewhere or something like that.
 
-Whilst playing the Dwarven tinkerers, I gained access to fireball throwing golems.
The first time a golem summoned a fireball, both the golem and the fireball ended up just outside the city the golem was in. Further summoningings went normally.

-Playing the second Dacius scenario, I noticed that clicking in the vicinity of the "end turn" button, resultated in the turn ending. Even though I merely wanted to go to the upper left portion of the chart.... There seemed to be a no-safe area of a few millimeters.

Oh, I see. Sorry, I misunderstood...for some reason I thought you were saying that because you couldn't remember the specific text of the event. A silly mistake in retrospect. :blush: I believe I've had that event occur since patch Z (although I'm not 100% certain), and I haven't had it corrupted like that. If it were me, I'd remove FfH2 and reinstall it fresh.

Now I am really wanting this update. I know I know, eye candy but I do love the eye candy. I am the type of person who visits art museums and mods that have graphics done by the community fits that bill IMNSHO ;)
 
I'm neighbors with the Balseraphs. Yersina (horseman) started ravaging their lands, but then a strange thing started going on. Illusion doubles of Yersina started being created (I assume by hall of mirrors). Furthermore these Yersina illusions started attacking me (although not killing anyone, they are illusions after all). I am NOT at war with the Balseraphs.

What's really weird though is these illusory horsemen of the apocalypse seem to drop their poison blade when their duration ends. I have 4 copies of Athame (sp?) the poison blade sitting around in my territory (and I'm not sure how many if Balseraph territory). I'm tempted to declare war on the Balseraphs just to take ownership of them.

I also experienced something like what is below:

In the same game as above (I'm Sandolphon, Sidar leader). Occasionally when I cast a spell, the caster is moved a square or so. I'm not sure when or why this happens.

I had this happen a long time ago, but didn't get around to testing it properly and forgot about it. It is definitely Hall of Mirrors that's the culprit - when the illusions die, even if it's not through combat, the equipment stays around. It actually was specifically Yersinia and Athame that it was happening with, the thing that I had meant to test was whether or not it happened with other types of equipment.
The illusions attacking you sounds like a separate issue, though, when it happened to me I was the one with the Hall of Mirrors and the copies didn't appear to have any kind of hidden nationality capabilities.
 
been awhile, haven't played since version .31. just installed the BtS patch, and installed the latest .40z patch, but am getting an error at load. anyone have any ideas based on the error?

'System Issues:
1. "GFC error: failed to initialaize the primary control theme" error loading the mod. You will recieve this error if FfH isn't installed in the correct location (under Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods). If you don't have Civ4 installed to that location just make sure the FfH is installed in the same directory as Final Frontier, Age of Ice and the other mods that came with BtS. Also make sure you have installed the full mod and not just the patch.'

thanks for the help, missed that note in the first post. looks like everything installed properly in the right places. the install created the new directory 'Fall from Heaven 2'. but still won't load.

You are missing the "Resource" folder. I suspect that you have installed only the patch, not the Mod itself. The mod will be a file called "FallfromHeaven2.exe", whereas the patch will be called "FfH2040z.exe". Delete your "Fall From Heaven 2" folder, then install the Mod, then install the patch.

i followed the link to download that too, but saw the date on it as Jul 22, 2006, so figured i already had it. guess that was the original date the file was added, not the latest version's upload date.

30. 70 Meg smaller than version 0.40 (improved loading times).

Wow.....how did you that?
 
He got rid of the elf porn videos you unlock after beating all the scenarios.

It's kind of disappointing, actually. :(
