[FIXED] Peace treaty does not expire

I had the exact same problem in the game I just finished.

in fact, I came specifically to this board looking to see if others had the problem.

I was on the tiny earth map, with speed set to quick.

There werer 4 civs including me; US, Russia, Japan, and Rome.

I was going for a conquest victory, and I had took out Russia, and beaten down Rome good.

I waged a brief war with Japan, and when I signed peace, the tooltip said it would last for 10 turns.

This was around 1000 AD.

I could still not declare war on Japan in 2049, and thus had to take a timed victory instead.

It was an incredibly boring game, I sure hope this doesnt happen again.

Edit: I also experienced a similar bug with open borders deals. Afaik they are suppose to last for 25 turns.

Well, in the game I outlined above, as soon as the permanent peace kicked in, so did permanent open borders.

Also I gotta gripe about absolutely no way to cancel open borders anytime I want to in a game with 1upt. INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING when my neighbors are eating up all the tiles in my territory with no way to cancel the open borders, or declare war.

Where did you see/read that they had the fix for that bug? And does it address other diplomacy bugs (my never-ending research treaty, for example)?

look at post #32 in this thread - dshirk told us. He is listed as Civilization 5 producer so he might know something :mischief:

This is a real anticlimax for my game. I am now on year 2030, and will have a time-victory in twenty years. I could easily have wiped out Persia by now, but due to this stupid bug, I am denied of a proper victory.

This is my first game of Civ5 ever. Welcome to Civilization 5.

:mad::mad::mad:

I was able to override the bug by dropping the Bomb on them! The Atomic Bomb overrides the peace-treaty-bug and cancels the peace deals. It was the only way. so if you have this bug, just drop the bomb on them and march your armies in!

Happy day! I have now won a satisfying Domination Victory in this first game of mine. It was indeed sweaty there for a bit!

Overall, I had loads of fun in this first game, and it was a long, interesting, exciting, satisfying and really very much fun adventure. This is a fun game, although I think they cut out much of the nationbuilding in favour of warfare. I got the silly GDR (which I have to admit - looks and plays good), I got myself a Domination Victory and I created the Socialist Communist Soviet Russia I wanted (love the Social Policies).

Happy again. :D:D:D

In my current Game as Napoleon I can't declare war on Wu Zeitan. The game seems to think there is a peace Treaty still in place and won't let me attack. The Peace treaty should have ended at least 30 turn before.

I made peace with Siam... and then for the rest of the game could never declare war again.
The peace treaty ran its course but the declare war button was grayed out for the rest of the game.

My game was updated this night; I think it was the latest patch I got. I will keep an eye up for this, but I am confident that this problem is solved now. For some reason, it made my first game of Civ5 a littel bit more exciting though, since I was finally able to get around the bug.

Had the same Issue China vs France. Annoying as hell, they just keep attacking my city state friends and what can I do? Nothing.

Actual bugs mind you. For instance.
Deal history says i agreed to a 10 turn peace treaty on turn 398 with China. Its turn 445 and I still can't declare war on her.

Alot of times it will tell me every single turn that I have made peace witha civ long after I have made peace,. declared war and made peace again and then declared. Every single turn.

I made a 30 turn agreement with Russia for 10 gold and its 120 turns later and she is still gettign that cash, no way to cancel the deal, and WTF i don't want to feed her the whole game.

Checking in - my game is still bugged after the patch. Perhaps it'll be fixed if you start a new game, but the old game seems to keep the permanent peace treaty.

Moderator Action: Threads merged...again.

Guys, please install the new patch 1.0.0.20, where this should have been fixed.
I would like to see a confirmation for the fix.

Well this was posted on sept 27th, the day of the patch. I had my problem the 28th. So I don't think the patch fixed it. Either way. Really disappointed in CIV5 right now since I have yet to finish any game I have started and I have had the game for a week.

Going back to Civ4 until they release the game in a finished state. And it case anyone missed it (played Civ1-Civ5) never had this many bugs. PATCH PATCH PATCH!!!

Maybe in a couple of months it will be fixed.

I know one thing for sure, when the next civ comes out I won't be paying for it until its been out for at least a year.

Boooo!!!

Yeah confirmed for me too. And not only that, very aggressive plays do not trigger the war again. Arabia declared war on me, and a few turns latter I asked for peace. Which became unbreakable for some reason. Even after using 2 cultural bombs to grab a bunch of his terrain (only source of oil).

This was as Aztecs, Quick, Continental, warlord. Going for cultural win. ON my last game playing as Russia I hadn't had this issue.
I don't know if there might be something for it, but I was in a permanent war with a City State allied to Arabia, so maybe that had an influence?

There is a thread on the 2K forums with this bug as well. You're pretty much hosed if you have it. *sigh* Time to wait for a patch...

Yup.

Glad I'm not the only one. Wrapping up my first full game last night. I'd made peace on a war with Persia around turn 220 after taking some choice cities. Turned my attention to the other direction. Ran down India and Songhai. Figured I'd finish off Persia to take the continent ...

hmm ... can't declare? Checked history, peace treaty was almost 50 turns ago. How about city states? Well, he's allied with Ragusa ... what if I ... nope, destroying Ragusa does nothing.

So now my Modern Armor is stuck looking at Persia's lame, remaining four cities guarded by Riflemen ...

i got the new patch and... (its in french but i think u can understand. i cant declare war because my peace treaty is still on. But if u look in the diplomatic option u see its over since more than 40 turn...)

It happen with 2 civ near my border. it kill my game. plz fix it.

I have been playing Russia on a large map, version 1.0.0.20. I went to war with Rome and beat him down for a few. We signed a peach treaty. Some 50 turn later it still will not allow me to declare war on Rome; even though it has shown that the peace treaty has ended several (some 50?) turns ago.
