Free Spell Research

Hi,

If modding MoM, how can you give a free Spell Research, as opposed to a free Technology?
What python and/or xml could be used to do this?
 
do you mean as a "civ starts with X spell tech" ?
or "wonder gives you +1 spell tech" , like the ToD does for techs ?
(not that I have any idea, but I noticed the ambiguity)
 
The latter. It would be fairly easy to give a specific spell research tech.

What I'm interested in is how do you give a player a free choice of the available spell research.
 
I had considered:
Granting a player a temporary building, which gives a free technology
Blocking research of tech, which are not spell research, while the player has that building
Removing the building, whenever a spell research tech is acquired.

Seemed like a plan but when a building grants a tech, the player is steered to the Technology screen and can't get to the spell research screen to make a choice.

Does anyone have a suggestion of an efficient way to give a player a free choice in spell research?
