So, I'm generating tons upon tons of great people in my most recent game. It's a OCC, and I'm wonder whoring like there's no tomorrow. Problem is... I keep getting ridiculous amount of great prophets... and nada as far as the rest of the types go. I haven't received one great spy or great engineer yet.

I've relocated my specialists away from priests.. but it still doesn't help, just cuts down on my overall great person production. Any tips anyone could offer me?

try building some more wonders that generate other great person point

and/or pray to the RNG gods:lol:

I tried to shed some light upon the mechanics and gave some (not 100% legal) tips here.

In OCC the best strategy for GP is to settle them, after building an academy, scotland yard and a militairy academy. Priests rock when settled, even more with ankor wat built, I rate them just below great merchants and engineers.

Never mind.

Well, that doesn't make any sense. An engineer specialist generates the same number of GPP that a priest does.

You are obviously loaded up with wonders that generate GP points, and there's no way to undo that, so the best you can do is to run as many non-priest specialists as possible, and as noted above, build some wonders that don't generate GP points. You will still generate GP points from the wonders, but all of the specialists will generate points for the other types, hopefully getting your chance of a GP down below 25%.

Of course, settled a settled GP is a most excellent thing to have. Especially when you are talking about a city that will almost certainly have all of the money and hammer multiplying buildings (including the national wonders) in it.

Trafficking in coding cocaine again DanF? Just can't quit it? I'm pretty sure anything you can do with a legit copy of civ IV is "legal" ;)...unless your link provides instructions on how to launch the CD at someone so hard it decapitates them or something.

I've changed my routine!

Angkor wat doesn't enhance GREAT priests, does it? I recall one game trying that strategy and being very disappointed.
