Impossible beginings!!! Argh!!

I realy want to try to win with culture and space. I'm trying my hardest to keep peace. Last night I got reamed in a new game. I choose americans, and guess who my neighbors are....Aztecs and zulus!

THe dam special unit of the aztecs makes it impossible to get things rolling. I couldn't expand fast enough. They hammered me back to just my capitol.

I tried to fight it out with one city, but it was hopeless.

Has anyone else had this happen? Has anyone come back from one city?

I love this game, but it's kicking my @$$!

peace is impossible!!

ive been kissing up to the japenese hopeing that they would join in an alliance against the aztecs. but i dont get that option.

what does it take to get an alliance??

im down to two cities!! and one is barely holding back hordes of eagle warriors!!
