Is it possible for Civilization VI to expand now

I don't know, but Civilization VI has not been updated for a year. Not even a free update.

No, probably no expansions. There's a bug that causes the game to crash to desktop if you have too many assets added by expansions and mods. The game is already near it without mods, and more expansions wouldn't help. The reason there haven't been any updates or expansions is likely because Firaxis is busy with another upcoming game... although why they haven't fixed that asset crash with an update by now is a mystery, especially because they keep updating the useless launcher. There are some other important issues that really should have been fixed with an update by now, and some of us are just as confused as you are with the lack of updates.

Civ VI is finished development, I don't expect any more updates.
