Is there a quicker way to trade with AI and find their location?

when I open the Event log and see an AI wants to trade with me I have to open the foreign advisor screen then tediously search for their leader head, happens every few turns. I can't use the scoreboard either cause I limited it to show 15 only to avoid clutter. Is there an easier way? it would be nice if we could click the events in our event log.

Also how do I find a specific AI on the map quickly? sometimes they only have a small civilization and I want to move my camera to their location. I play huge maps with tons of AI so I really need solutions to make late game more sane.

Have you tried Shift-D to contact leaders? It pops up a dialog box with just leader names.

thanks hopefully in the future more lines in the event log becomes clickable cause I know some are and most aren't.
