$1 per song is bad when you know that Apple buys the song in the first-place for 64 cents.
I can rip CDs straight from ITunes. CDs on ITunes are cheap, $10 for most of them. (like 95% of the CDs)
So Apple pays 64 cents? So what? It's called markup. Do you think Apple should just GIVE you the songs? Not exactly a good business model condusive to turning a profit.
Using your logic then every single thing you buy is overpriced. That $1 you pay for a coke in the machine... what a scam considering a case of 24 costs $5.99.. Yet you don't feel entitled to steal those?
Or when you go to a pub and pay $4 for a beer... Thats overpriced considering a 12 pack costs $13. Yet you still pay your bill at the end of the evening?
Besides - apple doesn't make much profit off their itunes site. They take a hit on their music to drive sales of their hardware.
I figure if a chocolate bar is worth a dollar (I'll scarf it down in 45 seconds) then a song I'll have forever is also worth the same.
