Just moved up to Emperor, going well need a bit of advice

I don't think you would have had to wait the ten turns for the border to expand after taking the Zulu capital; 1 turn so that it would've had some culture would have been enough. My first diety attempt(lost eventually, but started well) I capital-hopped Egypt's 7 cities. The only ones that were destroyed were the ones that didn't have the capital in it for at least a full turn.
