A civilization purely focused on improving its capital, Kaguya's Eientei has many veritable bonuses towards Wonders and Great People in exchange for the ability to expand.

  • Cannot produce Settlers. However, it may acquire Settlers through other methods, and may annex cities.

Makedonia under Antigonos II Gonatas
Antigonos's Makedonia has a very strong early Culture and Science bonus to keep it afloat, which is complemented by its ability to control the diplomatic scene and its bonuses to spawning Great People all over the empire.

  • Cheaper (375 -> 300)
  • Has the Ah~ Fresh Meat Promotion that allows them to pillage without using Movement points, and makes them restore 30 HP when starting on a turn on Sheep, Cattle or Bison.
  • May repair improvements, chop forests and jungle, and build roads, fortresses, farms and pasture.
UNW - Geumsusan Sun Palace:
  • Replaces the Grand Temple.
  • Unlocked at Chivalry
  • Base Cost increased (125 -> 175)
  • Does not require a holy city, but must be built in the Capital.
  • Requires 8 Maintenance.
  • Provides 5 Global Happiness, 5 Culture, 10 Faith, and causes the units trained in the city to gain the Capital Guard promotion that works identically to Ethiopia's Mehal Sefari's promotion.

A desert civilization, the House Atreides is adept at scratching a living off the desert, while receiving additional bonuses from faith generation.

  • Great People reveal 6 tiles around them at the start of the turn like air units.

  • Replaces Marines.
  • Cheaper (400 -> 350), especially when purchased with faith (Base cost 800 -> 170)
  • Stronger (65 -> 75)
  • Loses the Default Marine Promotions, but instead fights 40% Better in the Desert, move twice as fast in the Desert, and are invisible to most non-adjacent units when starting a turn on the desert.
  • Founds a city when starting a turn on a city ruin, which receives 5 Global Happiness, Food, Science, Culture, Faith, and Production.
UB - Windtrap:
  • Replaces the Solar Plant.
  • Unlocked at Biology
  • Costs less (500 -> 400), but more maintenance (3 -> 4).

  • May be spent to plant a Smuggling Outpost, which looks identical to the Trading Posts except it doesn't receive social policy bonuses. Doing so causes trade routes towards the said city to generate 4 gold for the trade route owner, and 2 gold for the owner of the city.
  • A stronger variant is unlocked at discovery of economics, which may sell exotic goods.
UB - Smuggler's Hideout:
  • Replaces the Zoo.
  • Doesn't require maintenance, and instead yields 2 gold.
  • Incoming trade routes generate 1 gold for both owner of trade route and owner of the city.

Aoi's Castle Town, like Akane's Castle Town made by Divine Yuri, is a Great People civilization. Unlike Akane, Aoi increases the quality of the Great People, while is focused on Great People tiles and Science. Aoi also depends heavily on culture and diplomacy, but can grow to be a deceptively powerful Science civilization despite having very little direct Science yield bonuses.

  • Political Treatises, Research Technology, Hurry Production, and Trade Missions are 33% Stronger.
  • Golden Ages last 34% longer (Artists also open Golden Ages that last 34% longer)
  • Great Scientists, Engineers, Merchants and Great Friends no longer shares points.

UB - Castle Town University
  • Replaces the University.
  • +3 Science and 1 Culture beyond the regular Yield bonuses of a University.
  • 3 Scientist Slots.
  • Enacting a social policy (Openers do not count) grants Great Friend Points and Great Scientist Points equal to 10% of the current threshold.
UU - Great Friend
  • It is its own unique type, replacing no previous Great Person.
  • Cannot be acquired by normal means, although Aoi may acquire them through Instant Great People effects such as Leaning Tower of Pisa or the Liberty finisher.
  • Points are generated if the empire is in a Golden Age, or if the city is in a We Love the King Day, with the points stacking if both is the case. Points are also generated based on the culture and faith output of the city.
  • Can be planted into an Academy, Holy Site, or a Landmark with 3 base Culture.

Van Darkholme's Nigrafantasia is a civilization that is themed on war and labor. Van Darkholme may capture Barbarians and turn them into workers, while workers also provide additional production bonuses. Lastly, his Great Generals are versatile, making Nigrafantasia a versatile civilization as long as it fights and generate Great Generals.

Trait - Deep Dark Fantasy
  • Diplomatic Bonuses to and from other male leaders.
  • 50% chance to transform defeated barbarians into Workers that spawn near the Capital.
  • Improving or clearing tiles provide the nearest city a production bonus, which is doubled if the city is training a military unit.

UU - Niger Dominus
  • Replaces the Great General.
  • Retains the regular Great General abilities.
  • Moving to a tile occupied by a friendly unit or starting a turn with a friendly military unit grants the said unit 25% combat strength until the next turn.
  • Passively Grants 3 Production and 2 Tourism to a nearest city within 3 tiles range if on friendly territory, although multiple Nigri Domini do not generate stacking bonuses on the same city.
  • Garrisoning a Niger Dominus grants the city 10% Production.
  • Can be used to conduct Trade Missions, Concert Tours or Hurry Production for 80% efficiency when compared to the respective normal Great Person.

  • Replaces the Zoo.
  • Does not require Colosseum beforehand.
  • Provides +2 Culture and 2 Slots of Writing.
  • Each slot filled grants all future units trained by the city 10 extra Experience.
  • Grants 1 Production per 2 citizens in the city.

  • Causes all default national wonders and any replacements to yield 2 Science, Production, and Culture.

Bomoi Eschatoi Alexandrou - Furthest Altars of Megas Alexandros

A fairly esoteric cultural footmark left by Megas Alexandros in his campaigns towards the East, it allows the civilization to train one of history's greatest untold warriors, the Hetairoi Kataphraktoi.

  • Requires Horseback Riding
  • Costs 250 Production
  • +2 Culture and Faith
  • Border Expansion of all cities in the empire costs 25% less Culture
  • +15 Experience to Mounted Units trained by the city
  • Allows the city to train the Hetairoi Kataphraktoi, an 18 Combat Strength unit with Shock I, Cover I, and its own unique promotion that grants it 67% more experience through combat, 33% Bonus towards attacking wounded units, and 20% Combat bonus from having a General share its tile.

Lykeion tou Aristotelou - Lyceum of Aristoteles

The Lykeion was among the most famous Hellenistic-era school, led by none other than Aristoteles himself after he taught Megas Alexandros at Mieza. The Lykeion's prestige is reflected in its scientific capabilities.
  • Requires Mathematics
  • Costs 250 Production.
  • 1 Culture, and 1 Scientist Slot.
  • 2 Faith and Science from each World Religion with at least 1 Follower in the City.
  • Free Great Scientist whenever a Social Policy is complete. Social Policies completed beforehand will also yield a Great Scientist.

Nymphaion en tei Miezai - Temple to the Nymphs at Mieza

Mieza is famous for being the place where Megas Alexandros, alongside other Makedonian nobles, were educated by Aristoteles. Aristoteles's teachings are reflected in its Great People oriented bonus.

  • 2 Faith, 1 Culture
  • 1% Great People Generation in the City for every 1 faith output of the City.
  • City's faith generation is accumulated, and for every 420 * (1+Great People Spawned by the ability) faith generated, the city produces a free Great Scientist, Engineer or General randomly.

Among the most prestigious academic instutitions in the Joseon dynasty, the Jiphyeonjeon was even mentioned in the Korea's original UA name by its successor Hongmungwan's alternate name, Okdang, meaning Jade Hall. It is a Science and Great People oriented building aimed at speeding Great People generation while also boosting science.

One of the three great Gymnasia of Athenai, Kynosarges is known as the focal point of the Cynical philosophy, which likely took its name from the said Gymnasion. It counteracts unhappiness, making burst of unhappiness a tool that can become a permanent long-term benefit to the empire if the unhappiness is remedied quickly.

  • The city permanently gains +2 Science, Faith, Production, and Culture for every net unhappiness that the civilization has achieved after the Kynosarges has been built.

The great learning complex that was established under the patronage of the Ptolemaioi, the Mouseion houses the famous Bibliotheke which was considered by many one of the wonders of the Classical World. The Mouseion attracted some of the most brilliant minds of the Hellenistic era, including Heron and Ktesibios, and even after the fall of the Ptolemaioi to the Romaioi Barbaroi and the destruction of the original building it still stood as a symbol of learning.

  • Replaces the Knight.
  • Much more expensive than the Knight (120 -> 160), and each city may only train 2 Minor Nobles.
  • Requires the city to have the Noble's Manor to be trained.
  • Stronger Ranged unit, (20 -> 22/20) which also fights 25% better in friendly territory.
  • Random Promotion after battle which provides different bonuses depending on type (which also may benefit the home city that trained the unit.)
