music wont play

when i open conquests, the music plays normally. but as soon as i load my game, the music doesnt play. ive checked and the music is on full and seeing how the sound effects work i know my speakers arent screwy. I am using a Windows XP, 2002. how can i fix this?

Can you upload a save. Maybe it's the preferences in that save.

this should be it, but like i said before, the prefrences are to have music at full (unless i am going as crazy as my friends say i am)

I am using the same XP version and noticed some changes in the music as well. Seems to be a problem of the game and / or of XP with the game.
Do you have an onboard sound-chip (as I do - SoundMax integrated audio device) or do you have a soundcard? If the later, do you have updated drivers for it?

i beleive i have a sound card, and i havent updated anything on it since this computer was purchased
