Hi, the game doesn't give enough details about how natural wonders work. Can they just be in your territory to get the full benefits or do they have to be a certain distance.

I think the first time you see one it gives a happiness bonus (not sure if this is the case on all difficulties).
And to get the additional bonus of a wonder you need to work it. So it needs to be within city range and it needs to have a citizen assigned to it.

And in case you didn't know, your city range is 3 tiles in all directions from the center city.

You get 1 happy for each natural wonder revealed on the map. Old Faithful gives 3 happy when inside your borders, not when worked.

As pointed out, they give you 1 happy when discovered, and otherwise have to be worked by a population point within a city for the benefit. You can see what they will provide by hovering over the tile, just like any other tile.

Magma_Dragoon pointed out that Old Faithful gives a static bonus in your territory; let me add that likewise El Dorado gives the first person to discover it a big chunk of gold. There may be others that work outside the "normal" rules, but they're the exception.
