Naval AI and patch 275

Yes, I said this weeks ago, that they need to have the AI civs protect embarked units better. Now that they are it is so much more fun. Naval battles finally. Keep in mind this only part one of a two part patch which should continue to help make the AI better. There still may be many shortcomings.

It's actually 1.5EXP, you will get 3EXP if you have the x1.5EXP policy.

1.5 gives 1 (implying rounded down), but 1.5x1.5 = 2.25 gives 3? That's really odd and bears further investigation, in my opinion.

edit: Oh.

I noticed Alex of Macedon built tons of naval units, but seems to me he does not know how to use them... He sent 3-4 submarines to the pass controlled by my 2 destroyers which made short work of them... I also noticed he had at least 7-8 obsolete naval units... Had those been upgraded my naval invasion would have failed for sure... He had the second largest empire, most advanced tech and probably the cash to pay for those upgrades...
And in a war infested king post patch game, there are surprisingly a lot of uncolonized land, even on our 2 continents... That is a first time for me... even a patch of land that has all 4 whale resources has no cities, and its connected to the inca.

Naval AI certainly seems a lot better. At one point in my current game I actually had to bribe Egypt to DoW Suleiman after he managed to get a hefty force (sipahai, cannons and cavalry escorted by frigates, about a dozen units in total) up to my front door without me noticing over a large amount of open sea.
Can't be sure if he was intending to invade me or Arabia but I didn't want to find out.

Yep the naval AI is a killer now. Naval invasion coming out of the blue ruined my last game. They were little too advanced and I had enogh troubles with another civ that I already were at war with.
