Hey guys - I've been desperately trying to remember the name of a massively multiplayer game I played online that was kind of like Civ 1 around 2002-2003.
It was called something like "Age of War" or "Game of War" or something like that.
Anyway there was a MASSIVE all encompassing map that everyone played on - in 2 dimensions (like Civ1), and the game ran CONTINUOUSLY (even when you logged off and weren't there).
-There was a huge technology tree like thing that constantly ran and helped you expand your little empire.
-I might log in the next morning to find my technology was even better, but I had been raided by someone.
All you really saw was the map, with different terrain and how far your nation had conquered. I can't remember building troops or anything.
Anyway I know its a long shot, but I figured die-hards here might have played something like this back in the day and remembered.
Long live CIV.
