I know the DS version does not have an opening movie, does Xbox360/ PS3 have one

Yes. It's pretty good.

I think the two "Call to Power" games had the best opening movies, although they weren't true "Civ" games.

It's a very suitable opening movie, although not as good as Civ 4 Vannilla's or as impressive as a Blizzard Cinematic. Still, it's pretty awesome. I'm sure it's on Youtube if you search for it.
