While I was watching the behind the scenes video, I noticed that at 9:13 there is an image of the panama canal in the background along with the other wonders. Was the panama canal a discarded wonder?

Would be interesting to see what they were intending Panama Canal wonder for... perhaps for a city that sits on an isthmus between two big oceans and gives it some commerce boosts or something?

Interesting idea. Panama canal wonder that you can open/close. When open all nations can pass through and it generates $... When closed? Nada

Or... Click on the wonder - a screen comes up where you can toggle nations access one by one. The more you allow through? The more $

You can make open borders for cash deals now. I've been paid by ai before, once, and I've also paid ai for open borders. In a decent mp game, whenever they get that fixed, I can see a value being placed on strategic passage cities, or even choke points.
