Hi everybody,

we - the team of Religion and Revolution - are looking for people interested in playing our mod in PBEM.

It would be great, if all 6 European Nations would find a player.
(England, France, Holland, Denmark, Spain, Portugal)

It would really be interesting for us to get some feedback about our mod in MP.
PBEM would be perfect, since we could get some savegames to analyse.

As special service, we could act as strategical advisors or even quest givers. :)

Trust me, we would be neutral and not tell any secrets about other players.

End of the month, we are planning our official release.
But if enough players are found before, they will get the mod earlier.

Sadly I am too busy to play one of the nations myself ...

But that does not give you feedback about MP, only about PBEM. OOS problems may be in the mod while playing MP and this will tell you nothing.

Lan Games would be also needed.

Yes, you are right.

But currently I am more interested in getting general feedback about balancing for MP.
Also I am really interested in getting more savegames to check AI development for example.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what is PBEM?

Nothing to be sorry for. :)

PBEM = Play by e-Mail

Savegames are being sent from player to next player after each turn.

It is a common method of Multiplayer for CivCol.
(A lot of people in the German forum play CivCol like this.)

I even know people that have been playing 2 or more PBEM sessions simultaneously.

The Pros:

1. It is relaxed.
You play a round every few days and have a lot of time to consider your actions.

2. It is a very stable way of playing CivCol. (Similar to HotSeat.)
Only very few problems are reported compared to other MP variants.

The Cons:

1. Games last very long.
I have seen games that lasted more than half a year.

2. You really need to have players that are reliable and can regularly play at least one round a week.
Also you need to trust each others not to cheat by taking a look at the other players.

-----------------

It is the perfect method if you do not have that much time but want to have a relaxed game with some friendly discussions.
If you want to have a lot of action and speed, you should play another method.

Wow, I found this weird.

Sometime I would have to try this.

I remember that in the Civ2Forum, they play the game in a way that I would like better. They use a standard game, and each player takes several turns, and then the other other, etc.

I found this very interesting, because you can learn from the better players. :)

I am hosting regular BTS scenario PBEM myself and usually like to focus on one PBEM game. But for RnR I can make some adjustments to my rules  I am available to play any Nation and any Leader, so count me in! :cooool:

Great. :)
Now only 5 others need to be found.

@Tigranes:
Could you take over this thread please and try to organize your PBEM game ?
