Photonic Sattelites

So there's a tech called Photonic Sattelites that is a Transhuman technology. I'm curious if this is related to the real-life and current-day technologies of Free-Space Optical Communications and NASA's Laser Communication Relay Demonstration. Should this tech be updated to be available earlier on, or should there be an earlier tech that leads to it? As real-world technology progresses, will we need to update some of the future techs to reflect real-world progress?

Bear in mind that we did determine that when a tech shows up is not when we suddenly know how to do it as much as when it becomes an applied practice. But yes, sure, I'm certain there will be adjustments as time goes on (there are about to be some from the planning done recently as well.)

The breakthroughs on Fusion is something I'm watching for this reason also. And it sounds like we had some graphite application breakthroughs recently - something about being able to generate a massive amount of hydrogen with it.
